During the last edition of Spa Summer Classic we bumped into a C 43 AMG W202. As 205 series the C 43 is a well established entry-AMG, but the naming goes back to the 202 generation of the C-Class. The C 43 W202 was what the C 63 S W205 currently is. The most powerful C-Class of that time. The engine is a V8 4,3 litre, good for 306 hp at 5.850 rpm and 410 Nm torque between 3.2500 and 5.000 rpm. The C 43 AMG was also available as combi and was produced between 1998 and 2000. A real sleeper this subtle V8 as the looks are not really extravagant. You must be a real specialist to note that the C 43 is 2,5 cm lower than the normal sports suspension of a C-Class. AMG offered the possibility to upgrade the C 43 AMG to a C 55 AMG with 347 hp for an amount of 54.200 DM. It improves the zero to 100 km/h from 6,5 to 5,5 seconds.
