The AMG GT R Roadster is definitely a potential classic of the future. The beast of the green hell goes topless, but only 750 GT R’s will lose their roof. That’s the same number as the AMG GT R PRO coupés. The GT R Roadster is 16th member of the (enormous) GT family: five coupés, four roadsters, two racing cars and five 4-door coupés. Compared to the initial GT R model, there are extra air curtains on the outside of the front apron. Next to that the wheel arch liners are specefic for the Roadster with special cooling-air slits to optimize airflow. The GT R Roadster also has a active aerodynamic profile that is positioned in the underbody in front of the engine. It generates additional downforce thanks to the Venturi effect. Various materials are used for the body structure of the GT R: aluminium alloys, magnesium and carbon fibre. The structure of the boot lid is made of Sheet Molding Compound bonded with carbon fibre. An integral aluminium crossmember acts as protection for the employees in case of rollover.

The GT R Roadster can count on the 585 hp powerful 4 litre V8 and and adjustable coil-over suspension with active rear axle steering. The topspeed of this roadster is 317 km/h and the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h just takes 3,6 seconds. The GT R Roadster is 5,7 cm wider at the back compared to the GT and GT S Roadster and the rear wing has an integrated brake light. The seats feature the neck heating Airscarf. This GT R Roadster is more than ready for the summer!
