The Royal family of Belgium has always been known as a car enthousiast family, but this S 63 AMG is probably one of the most exclusive (and expensive) cars the Royal Palace bought. King Albert II also owned an SL 55 AMG of the R230 generation but this S 63 AMG is much more exclusive. In 2001 Mercedes had the idea to put a 6,3 litre V12 AMG in the former S-Class. Back at that time, naming of cars was still straightforward and thus the S 63 AMG was born. The M137 engine is a drilled out 5,8 litre M137 with 444 hp. Also the CL-Class received the same 63 AMG treatment. Of both models probably no more than 100 units were produced as the price was close to € 200.000. The car for sale at Gem Classic cars has 82.000 km and the asking price is € 43.900. The car also has Active Body Control, Multicontour seats and even a portable Nokia phone.

The car is currently reserved, so you’re probably too late if you were about to make an offer.
