Mercedes-AMG announced that it now has the fastest lap time of a series produced four-seater (AMG GT 63 S) at the Nürburgring. Demian Schaffert, former racing driver and engineer of AMG, set the laptime of 7:25,41. The lap time was measured by a neutral party (wige SOLUTIONS). The correct specification of the vehicle and the lap time was certified by an independent notary public. Some months ago Jaguar claimed the fastest ever time by a ‘four door sedan in production-intent specification’ with her XE SV Project 8: 7:21,2 but that seems to be another category.
