No less than 14 AMG GT’s participated to the 70th edition of the 24 hours of Spa. The first Mercedes-AMG only started from the 14th place but during the race the AMG’s showed some strong race pace. This resulted in four finishes in the first twelve cars and three class podium finishes.

  • The Mercedes #4 from the Black Falcon team ran at some point second but due to several Safety Car interruptions and Full Course Yellow situations nothing was for granted. An unfortunate pitstop just before a Full Course Yellow situation destroyed the podium chances of #4 some hours before the chequered flag.
  • In the end the Mercedes-AMG Team BLACK FALCON car #4 finished fifth and the Mercedes-AMG Team AKKA ASP GT #88 finished sixth. The first five cars crossed the finish line in the same lap. Unseen after an incidentful 24 hours.
  • In the Pro-AM class, the GT #42 was leading during most of the race, but in the final stages it dropped one place in order to end second in the Pro-AM category.

Next to the racing drama, a brand new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S Four Dour Coupé Edition 1 4MATIC+ was present in de paddock of Spa Francorchamps, as well as some other stunning road legal AMG’s.
